Ireland - Donegal to Derry

There was a free guided tour around Derry's Guildhall starting soon so we decided we would do that. While we were waiting we looked around the exhibition explaining the history of the conflicts between the Irish and the English and between the Catholics and the Protestants. This city was beseiged twice for over 100 days: in 1649 the garrison held out against royalist troops during the English Civil War and in 1689 the city supported Protestant William 111 against Catholic James 11 in their struggle for the English throne.
